Want to help care for a feral cat colony?

November 25, 2014 Cliff Coulter

The Kingston Humane Society believes that part of the answer to cat overpopulation involves trying to manage feral cat colonies to prevent the births of unwanted litters of kittens. The KHS commends Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative (SNKI), which is an organization committed to TNR programs in our community. These programs trap, spay or neuter, and re-release cats into their designated colonies. SNKI is working with the City of Kingston and resident volunteers to identify and/or care for colonies of feral cats within the local community.

If you are aware of, or are already caring for, a feral cat colony in your neighbourhood and wish to volunteer to become a colony caretaker please fill in the form on the Spay Neuter Kingston Initiative website. The specific location of the colony will not be divulged.

Colonies have already been identified and are being helped in these areas:

  •          Earl Street
  •          Bagot Street
  •          Victoria Street
  •          Compton Street
